The Churches of the Manasquan Area Ministerium, The Wall Community Alliance and the Shore Community Alliance, along with all of our “Say Something” partners in the community are hosting Adult Mental Health First Aid.
This course is being offered on two successive Mondays
February 29, 2016 and March 7, 2016
A Simple Supper will be served at 5:00
Course will be taught from 5:30 – 9:30
Cost: $30 per person
Mental Health First Aid is an in-person training that teaches you how to help people developing a mental illness or in a crisis.
Mental Health First Aid teaches you:
– Signs of addictions and mental illnesses
– 5-step action plan to assess a situation and help
– Impact of mental and substance use disorders
– Local resources and where to turn for help
The adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone 18 years and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions.
